Gavin the Blind Sheltie Update-Enhanced Version

This is an enhanced version, with more pictures and info, about Gavin the little blind shetland sheepdog found wandering cornfields. Blind dogs, and those with other special needs, do incredibly well. Dogs don’t know words like ‘disability’ or ‘handicap’, they only crave love, care and companionship from their humans. Please consider adopting a special needs dog. Without adopters, like the ones in this video, many special needs dogs like Gavin would be put to sleep when they have so much love yet to give.

i was once saved by a blind dog. When i was 5. I used to play with my neighbour’s Blind Rotweiller and he liked me very much. One day i was walking in the street and an Angry Pitbull started to roar at me. I was in panic and the Blind Rotweiller showed up, and started fighting the pitbull, even thou’ he was blind. He heard my panic voice and came to help me. I wont forget that day.

it doesnt matter if a dog is blind or even mute =.= people like perfect dogs but they should think first on those who need.

i see nothing but love and affection in Gavins face. it saddens me to know how he had to search those cornfields for dinner. but it makes me cry in happiness that he has such a loving family

This wrenches my heart every time I view it. Anyone who has ever been owned by a Sheltie can understand how precious this is. Shelties were put on the earth by God to reward special people. I am owned by two of them, and they are the most loving animals I have ever seen. Plus I have three more of them waiting for me at “Rainbow Bridge”.

This reminds me of our dog! Ty was also a blind sheltie found wandering on the road. We found him through sheltie rescue and i’ve never had a more loving dog.

This is a wonderful story. How blessed this sheltie is,and even more so the new owners.
We have a blind himalayen kitten, that was going to be euthanized because she was born with no eyes. The breeder felt she was not sellable.
We adopted our “Bumper” at 8 weeks, and is now just a bit over 1 year old.
Every animal deserves the right to quality of life.I know our lives have been enriched to the fullest, with our babe.
Hugs to all of you,for giving Gavin a loving home.

So sweet. God put Shelties on the earth to reward special people. Blind does not matter, a Sheltie is a very special animal that gives his or her heart unconditionally. Share your home with a Sheltie and you will never be without one again. Humans don’t own Shelties, it is the other way around. I am so glad that Gavin found his special people, God bless you and keep you .. and Gavin. From Becca and Rachel….. Two more loving Shelties.
